Holland America Cruise Lines announced that next season its ships will call on Mazatlán eight times with an additional ten scheduled for 2016.

Alfonso Gil Diaz, director of Mazatlán’s Port Authority, said that the latest schedule shows there will be 32 ports of calls in 2015 and 16 have already been scheduled for 2016. He acknowledged, however, that the schedule is subject to change.

Tourism Minister, Francisco Cordova Celaya, has been in negotiations with Carnival Cruise Lines. A cruise ship from Carnival Cruise Lines has not called on Mazatlán in the last three years.

The Minister of Tourism said he hoped to hear from Carnival at the Miami convention scheduled for March 10. If they do return that would result in an additional 40 to 50 calls on the port.
