Former three term Mazatlán Mayor Alejandro Higuera was appointed by Sinaloa Governor Mario López Valdez to the position of Director General of the Colegio Nacional de Educación Profesional Técnica (Conalep). The appointment replaces Ildefonso Medina who held the position for three years.

Higuera, who will take up his post in Culiacán once he has been sworn in, told reporters he is happy with the appointment.

Conalep is presently undergoing a State audit where administrative irregularities are being examined.
