The director of the municipal transit police, Aarón Aguilar Íñiguez,
outlined road closures for Mazatlán’s Carnaval 2014 which begins
tomorrow evening in Olas Altas with the crowning of the King of
Happiness and the performance of local banda singer Chuy Lizarraga.
Olas Altas street in El Centro will be closed to traffic from 4pm to 7am the following morning from February 27 through March 5.
On Sunday, March 2, Olas Altas, Paseo Claussen, and the Malecón from Av. Rafael Buelna to Av. Reforma will be closed to traffic beginning 2pm in advance of the first Carnaval parade.
The Malecón from Av. Rafael Buelna to the Shield Monument in Olas Altas will be closed to traffic on March 3 beginning at 8am in anticipation of the second Carnaval parade scheduled to commence around 4pm.
