The municipal water department board of directors, headed by outgoing
Mayor Alejandro Higuera, yesterday approved a 1.0362 percent increase
in water taxes beginning January 1, 2014.
The minimum monthly tariff will increase from 60.43 pesos to 62.62 pesos, residential tariffs from 62.68 pesos per month to 64.95 pesos and commercial and industrial rates from 193.86 to 200.88 pesos.
The Jumapam administration council approved a 2014 budget in the amount of 668,569,783 pesos of which it expects to generate from taxes 441,551,587 pesos. The 2014 budget is an increase of 20.7 percent over that of 2013.
