THE NEWS
President Enrique Peña Nieto said that 2013 will be remembered as a
year of great transformations, a year that Mexico dared to take-off.
In a video posted on President Enrique Peña Nieto’s official blog, he
gave his end-of-year message, which was accompanied by images of
children, youth, disabled people, indigenous peoples, women and men that
wished everyone a happy 2014.
One part of the video featured a child saying that “each year is an
opportunity to be better people, to respect and value diversity in
Mexico,” and later a child with Down Syndrome wished everyone a “happy
new year.”
An indigenous lady featured in the video giving new years wishes in his native tongue.
A couple was then shown wishing “love and blessings for all your family” and “may you be healthy and full of love this year.”
Other women and men appeared in the video as well, including a mother
with her children and people with disabilities. Subtitles were shown
for those who sent their wishes in their native languages.
At the end of the video, President Enrique Peña Nieto says, “It is
time to believe. Together we will make history.” Accompanying the
message was a cloud in the background that read, “This 2014 we will put
into practice all of our 2013 achievements.”
