Guillermo Rosales Zarate, Deputy Director of the Mexican
Association of Automobile Distributors (AMDA), said that the
Association is predicting new car sales for this year to exceed those in
2013 by 8 percent.
The Deputy Director said that the improvement in sales
is predicated upon the new financial reforms that have been passed by
the federal government and a better control of used automobiles being
imported from the United States.
Guillermo Rosales added that tighter restrictions on the
importation of used cars, including the requirement for technical
inspections of imported cars, is estimated to be the most important
factor in increased sales of new cars this year.
