The rescue of a woman perched on a bridge threatening to jump and the safe recovery of a young child held at knife point in the Gran Plaza shopping mall, both potentially tragic events which occurred in Mazatlán last week, came to a non-violent end thanks to municipal police, civil protection agents and firemen.
Yesterday, Mayor Carlos Felton held a press conference in their honour, presenting four policemen, the co-ordinator of Civil Protection and one fireman with certificates of recognition for their actions in the crisis events. The honourees were also presented with a financial reward and restaurant vouchers.
