State Health Secretary César Gómez Monge and Economic Development
Secretary Adrián Fuentes Villalobos met with business leaders on Friday
to present a copy of the new regulations on the sale of automobiles and
auto parts, as well as the operation establishments that sell alcoholic
beverages, which entered effect last year.
Gómez and Fuentes said that public health and the fight against crime
are the two main priorities for the state government led by Gov.
Eruviel Ávila Villegas, adding that work is being done on different
areas, such as in passing stricter regulations and closing
establishments that sell doctored beverages, sell alcohol to minors or
sell stolen auto parts.
They went on to say that the Ávila administration, rather than trying
to clamp down on legitimate businesses, is interested in making it
easier for entrepreneurs to obtain operating licenses.
Fuentes said that the concerns of the business community will be
taken into account and the state government will try to find a solution
that can satisfy all parties within the existing legal framework so that
businesses can operate freely without becoming dens of vice or allowing
for the sale of stolen merchandise.
