Durango: Durango City Mayor Esteban Villegas Villareal said in a press conference yesterday he and Mazatlán Mayor Alejandro Higuera along with Mayor Elect Carlos Felton have met to discuss initiating a Sister City proclamation between the two municipalities.
The union, he said, would not only be advantageous economically, but also culturally and in terms of tourism. They will examine the strengths and weaknesses of both cities to be complementary rather than competitive.
In Durango, said Villegas Villareal, we want Mazatlecans to feel as if they are at home.
