Yesterday the municipal council approved name changes for three major streets and avenues in the municipality.
The first proposal to be approved was presented by the Urban, Ecology and Public Works Commission to change the name Avenida Universidad to Avenida de Los Andes from west to east beginning at Ave. Reforma and ending at Av. La Marina.
The second change approved, also proposed by the commission, is to change Avenida Circumulación to Sacerdote Xaveriano Arnaldo Rigodanza Gaianigo, in memory of the former director of the Instituto Cultural de Occidente (ICO).
The third and final change was proposed by the President of the Colegio de Valuadores. The council approved his proposal to re-name Sábalo-Cerritos to the name of former Mazatlán Mayor and engineer Mario Huerta González.
