Federal deputies Francisca Corrales Corrales, Raul Galván Villanueva, and the
coordinator of Sinaloa’s legislators, Heriberto Galindo Quiñones, announced on
Saturday that Mazatlán shipbuilders will be awarded contracts for the
construction of seven ships for Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex). They said all that
is needed is the announcement of the contracts by Sinaloa Governor Mario López
Valdez and Pemex.
The group said other Mexican shipyards to win contracts are Veracruz, Tampico, and Enseñada.
Galindo Quiñones said that the contracts were awarded by the Navy because Pemex awarded the overall contract to the Secretary of the Navy and the Mexican shipyards were subcontractors.
The deputies acknowledged that the shipyard owners, legislators from the National Action Party, the New Alliance Party, and the Governor participated in the negotiations.
