Mazatlán stranding them at the entrance to the port at El Crestón.
The slow moving storm is expected to bring 5-10 inches of rain to Sinaloa and should weaken providing the eye remains inland.
As the storm moved over Mazatlán, it dropped 190mm of rain on the municipality, causing floods in the vulnerable areas of El Centro and the Zona Dorada.
Highway 40 from Mazatlán to Matamoros was closed for several hours due to a landslide, while families in the outlying area of San Antonio were evacuated and the Concordia and Las Cañas rivers overflowed.

Classes were suspended in all schools yesterday and again today, and many guarderías were closed.
Businesses reported employees were arriving late to work or unable to get to work when buses were delayed by flooded roads. Along the main arterial route of Camarón Sábalo in the Golden Zone, determined workers were seen rolling up pant legs, removing shoes and wading across the street to clock in for another day at work.
