Mazatlán-Durango Highway Spurs More Investments

The imminent opening of the Mazatlán-Durango highway is attracting private investors as the city prepares for increased commercial traffic to the port. Fernando Valdez Solano, President of Codesin, said yesterday three new projects are underway with a fourth due to commence in October.

Private capital and investments by Mexican nationals are behind the projects which consist of two cargo logistic centers, one of 800 hectares to the north at San Antonio Hills residential area, the other to the south at Villa Unión consisting of 60 hectares, both providing parking for cargo trailers, warehouses and driver services.

The third project, the first stage of the dredging of Mazatlán´s port, will begin in October.

And finally, said Valdez Solano, a commercial plaza Patio Mazatlán anchored by Coppel and Aurrerá stores, is being constructed in front of the Pepsi plant at the southern exit of the city.
