Mayor Elect Carlos Felton Presented with 12 Priority Projects



Members of the Intercamaral Zona Sur met with Mazatlán Mayor Elect Carlos Felton González yesterday to present twelve priority projects that will have a major impact on the economic, social, tourism and cultural life of Mazatlán. Felton will assume his duties as Mayor at the end of this year.

Meeting at the office of Codesin in the Centro Historico, Hector Pastor Cruz González, president of the Intercamaral, said based on various studies and analyses they have pinpointed projects indispensible for the wellbeing of Mazatlecan society.

A wide range of representatives from government, NGOs, business and private enterprises were present at the meeting, including federal deputy Martín Heredia, president of the Tres Islas hotel association José Ramón Manguart, as well as the presidents of AMPI, Canaco, Coparmex and Canacintra.

The twelve priority projects presented to Mayor Elect Felton by the representatives were:

  •  remodeling of the Malecón
  •  construction of the General Hospital
  •  construction of an IMSS medical unit in Prados del Sol
  •  development of Mazatlán´s naval industry
  • construction of the Plaza de las Culturas and Sister City park
  • MARTI project (international applied statistics program)
  • stimulation of a real estate study
  • Rastro TIF (federal agriculture subsidy program)
  • improving sanitation
  • strengthening IMPLAN (Municipal long term planning office)
  • Bosque de la Ciudad Project
  • the El Crestón Treatment Plant

Mayor Elect Felton told representatives at the meeting as Mayor he will work together with civil societies and the private sector on projects that will benefit Mazatlán and Mazatlecans. (from Noroeste)
