Annual Fish Fair Opens April 1st

With the participation of 14 stands, Mazatlán’s annual Fish Fair opens on April 1 and runs through until April 5. Located across from the aquarium in a large parking lot, it is open from 10am to 6pn daily.

As well as offering diverse fish dishes, there is a play area for children, live banda music, cooking classes and handicrafts.

Chefs Gilberto del Toro, Julia Portugal, Angelina Escutia and Marino Maganda will be on hand to cook up local specialities.

At the announcement of the fair on Tuesday, head of Mazatlán´s family services Sylvia Treviño Felton said they expect to surpass the 4,500 people who attended the popular event last year.

Fish Fair April 16 to 20

Sylvia Treviño de Felton, President of the municipal DIF (family services) announced the upcoming Feria de Pescado to be held April 16 through 20 in the parking area in front of the aquarium.
At a press conference she explained the 14 stands will be erected on asphalt this year to ensure food is not affected by dust. Well known local chefs such as Héctor Peniche, Marino Maganda, Angelina Estrada and Julián Portugal will give demonstrations on how to prepare seafood dishes.
Music, folkloric dancers and a children’s play area will enhance the family atmosphere, said Treviño, adding the fair is open from 10am to 6pm.
